Ian Tyley is an Australian cinematographer whose work moves between narrative, documentary, and commercial storytelling with a quiet, observant eye. Raised on the Central Coast of NSW, he is drawn to the textures of light, the rhythms of human movement, and the emotional landscapes that lie beneath the surface of everyday life.

His cinematography seeks authenticity, capturing the intimate and fleeting moments that reveal the truth of a story. Through careful composition, natural light, and nuanced camera movement, Ian creates imagery that lingers, inviting audiences into the emotional heart of each project.

His work has been recognised with two ACS Silver Awards and one ACS Bronze Award, and the short films he has lensed have traveled the globe, screening at festivals celebrated for their storytelling and visual craft. Ian collaborates closely with directors to craft visuals that are both cinematic and deeply human, balancing artistry with narrative clarity.

A graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School (Master of Cinematography, 2021), Ian continues to explore stories that resonate emotionally, where the power of the image carries the weight of the human experience.
